Course
Description
This is the entry level course to the Emergency
Medical Service profession. Areas to be included are: EMT roles and
responsibilities, airway management, patient assessment, medical
emergencies, anatomy and physiology, documentation, lifting and moving,
and communications. Practical labs will be conducted. Upon successful
completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the
National Registry test and certify as an EMT-Basic in the State of
Nevada.
Selection Process
Basic aptitude test including reading comprehension, math skills, and a
writing sample.
Prerequisites
Students
who planning to attend the REMSA EMT-Basic course must be at least 18 years
old, possess a current Healthcare Provider CPR card, and provide proof of
Hepatitis B Series and childhood immunizations.
